Easy Tips to Maintain Performance and Speed of your Computer or Laptop


We are very familiar with the working of the computer applications and most of us use the window operating systems like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows7. There is a normal tendency or behavior you will generally found that after some time of the installation of the fresh operating system on your computer hardware, it gradually gets slower. Yes the speed and performance of the system decreases. Here I would like to tell you the reasons behind this which are very common in nature and also some simple tips to get rid of this problem.

Some simple reasons which decrease the speed of the computer and tips are:
·         Generally we store lots of icon on our desktop, or some files in My Documents, which are by default store our files on C drive, which is the drive where OS is installed. The low space problem drastically decreases the system speed.
TIP: We generally store heavy files in other drives and make sure that C drive must be free more than 40% of its total volume. Change the default path of “My Document” be right click on the icon and change the path of this to some other directory. This will also prevent your files to be deleted during the format or recovery of the system.

·         While we browse Internet, there are lots of temporary internet files are stored on our PC. This decrease the speed of the system. Though they increase the browsing speed as browser needs not to download every time the images and contents for the same pages we browse. But huge space decrease the system performance
TIP: we must remove them after certain time. For this Open Internet Explorer, Go to Tools and properties. Remove temporary Internet files and set the space to lower (apprx 50Mb).
·         
      Games with heavy graphics decrease the normal performance of the system.
TIP: During the installation of these games, set the installation path to some other directory and not the OS directory.
·         
      There are some programs installed, which are not needed and they eat resources.
TIP: Uninstall those programs which are not required.
·         
      Some Programs and services are started during boot of the system, which increase the boot time of the computer.
TIP: Click on Window+R, type msconfig and press Enter key. A prompt will be open. Here you can uncheck those programs, which you don’t want to start at boot time. Be cautious here as some services are programs are needed to run the machine.

Here are some normal tips, which definitely increase somewhat the speed and performance of your current hardware. Hope this will help you.
