Simple Tips for Secure Online Shopping


We are living in the era of Information Technology. Any information is available now on our finger tips and internet plays a vital role here. Think if you ask about any city which is not enough popular, 20 years ago to someone. He would not have answered at all. But today he knows that he could get the details online and then at least can have an idea about that. This is a very small example of this era.
We have mail services, hosting services, billing services, gaming and lots of thing online to do. We can make new friends; we can find our old friends through social networking websites and do a lot of fun. Besides this we can run our business online and companies are doing this. Our banks are online and we can send or receive money online. We can sell or buy things online, even we can order pizza.
As we are living in online world, we are able and getting involved more in shopping online. Shopping online is good, user friendly, with lots of options and with no compulsion to buy a product. There is an open world to us, if we want something to buy. But with the comfort, there are some risk of online fraud also and here I would like to share some tips with you, so that you could not be victim of any fraud.

TIPS
  • ·         While being online, never share your credit card details with anybody.
  • ·         While being online never share your bank details, user password with anybody, except entering user, password on secured bank website. Banks will never ask you to mail your details.
  • ·         Do shopping or billing only on secured websites. Secured websites are those websites which uses https protocols and it could be seen on your address bar at the start of the website address like https://. Secured address never tells you that website is good or bad, secured addresses only tell you that this is the same website, which it claims to be.  Yes if you logged on Facebook and before that https:// is written then it means that this is original Facebook website. Money transaction must be done on secured websites only, they move your data in encrypted form to the destination, so that it could not be altered or read by hacking.
  • ·         Your bank website will be the secured website and you can see the address bar of your browser to ensure this. In some browser either on status bar or on address bar, there is a sign of a lock also for better visibility.
  • ·         If you mistakenly done transaction on any unsecured website, change immediately your card password or bank user password details.
  • ·         Do shopping with trusted websites only and always enter the address in address bar and avoid click on links in mail or any other places to first go to the website.

There are some tips I have shared with you, you need to only keep in mind them and be cautious while online transactions.
