The proverb goes that the more they get the more they want. It is
habitual that a human being wants more and more. There is no end of one’s
demand in this mundane world. But it is a matter of simple thought that a
person’s all demands are not to be fulfilled here on earth. A man may want to
marry thousands of women in this world. But this is nearly impossible on behalf
of a single person. However, a human being may get this desire fulfilled if he
or she can go to the heaven after death.
Not all human beings are happy with what he or she has. Happiness is
a psychological matter. A poor man living in the hut may be happy if he is
satisfied with what he has. He lives from hand to mouth. This does not matter
at all. He works hard in the field all day long. After sunset, he comes back to
his hut, and goes to bed for a deep sleep. He remains healthy physically and
mentally all the year round. Thus, his life comes to an end with happiness.
On the contrary, a very wealthy person or even a minister of a
country may be unhappy with what he has because he always tries to compete with
another minister for some reasons. Many difficult problems surround him from
different corners. He leads so complex a life that his mentality is always
filled with new wants and demands. He always remains on the run to fulfill his
demands. But it is quite impossible to realize all his requirements in this
world, and so he remains unsatisfied and unhappy in his entire life.
So, it is crystal-clear that a person’s happiness lies in his or her
contentment with what he or she has. Health is always the root of all
happiness. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. If a person is physically
healthy, he or she is sure to be happy mentally also. So, we can certainly
assert that self-satisfaction is the key to happiness.
